Larry Gene Thomas, 61, of Marshall, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on December 11, 1950 in Sedalia, a son of Roscoe Thomas and Doris (Buck) Yager.


On August 17, 1968, in Nelson, MO, he was united in marriage to Roberta Raines, who survives of the home.


Larry was a farmer and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a truck driver and worked for Pummill’s Construction as a carpenter. Larry enjoyed trout fishing at Bennett Springs and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. He was a past member of Pettis County RV school board.


Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer L. Cave and her husband Jimmy of La Monte, Carrie Miner and her husband Allen of Lee’s Summit and one son, Justin Thomas of Sedalia; three sisters, JoAnn Haupt and her husband Elmer of Kansas City, Karen Seamon and her husband Tom of Leavenworth, KS and Carolyn Thomas and her husband Jerry of Grain Valley; three brothers, Guy Smith of Texas, Jim Thomas and his wife Judy of Bettendorf, IA and Gary Townsend of Grain Valley; three grandchildren, Cole Cave, Gigi Miner and Mathis Miner.


Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Gary Dean Thomas.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Roberta Karchner officiating.


Burial will be at Miller’s Chapel Cemetery.


Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service.


Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Canon Cancer Center at Bothwell Regional Health Center or The Miller’s Chapel Cemetery fund in care of the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Robin Pummill, Delbert Johnson, Jimmy Reid, Rick Cornine, Tim Cornine and Eldon Kriesel.


Honorary bearers will be Joe Crafton, Donald “Poe” Smith, Donnie Smith, Jimmy Cave, Cole Cave and Allen Miner.
