Helen “Patsy” Ellis, 61, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on July 8, 1950, in Junction City, KS, a daughter of Willard W. and Helen V. (Paxton) Chewning.
Patsy’s children, above all, were #1 in her life. She loved fishing, camping and driving. She enjoyed playing Bingo and scratcher lottery tickets. Patsy loved going shopping with her mom and her main mission in life was pulling pranks on her kids. She was a member of The Moose Lodge 1490, The Women’s Democratic Group and The VFW Post #2591 Ladies Auxiliary.
On February, 13, 1988, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Ellis who survives of the home.
Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by eight children, Sherri Miller of Sedalia, David Wirtz and his wife Donna of Sedalia, Jonathan Wirtz and his wife Angie of Warrensburg, Mary VanWagner and her husband Roger of Dixon, MO, Matthew Wirtz and his wife Melissa of Virgina, Willard Wirtz of Sedalia, Lucas Ellis of Sedalia and Monty Ellis also of Sedalia; two sisters, Melva Jean Monteer of La Monte and Mary Elizabeth Neal of Abilene, KS; one brother, Darryl Chewning and his wife Cathy of Sedalia; 28 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Tim Ramier officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
