Alfred S. Ream, 90, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home.  He was born on February 23, 1922, in Independence, MO, a son of Frank Henry and Esta Leota (Curtis) Ream.


He was united in marriage to Juanita Ream who preceded him in death on March 20, 1968.  On May 23, 1969 he was united in marriage to Esther Kampe who survives of Clinton, MO.


He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking and working on anything mechanical. Alfred worked as an air mail supervisor at the KCI Airport and was a member of the RLDS Stone Church, Independence.  He served his country honorably in the US Army in WWII and received a Bronze Star for his service.


He is survived by four children, Robin Ream and his wife Joy of San Antonio, TX, Sandra Courtney of Independence, MO, Ernie Ruth of Independence, MO and Christin Cordray of Sedalia; three sisters, Ruth Parker of Independence, MO, Mary Ream of Osceola, MO and Betty Hendley of Independence, MO; one brother, Gordon Ream of Wheatland, MO; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.


Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Barry Ream and George Hackett; eight sisters and four brothers.


A graveside, memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 9, 2012 at Mound Grove Cemetery with Pastor Bill Boatman officiating.


Full military honors will be conducted by the Missouri Military Honors Team.


In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Wounded Warriers or D.A.V.E. in care of the funeral home.
