Daniel Lee Gentges, 62, of Sedalia, passed away, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Tuscumbia, MO, a son of Leo and Sara (Morris) Gentges. On June 24, 1979 in Miami, OK he was united in marriage to Carol Walters, who survives of the home.


He enjoyed working on housing projects with The Habitat for Humanity and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Daniel served his country honorably in the US Army, Vietnam. He was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church and taught Building Trades at State Fair Community College. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Nathan (Nichole) Gentges of Sedalia and Nicholas (fiance Holly) Gentges of Sedalia; one brother Alan (Diane) Gentges of Barttlesville, OK and one granddaughter, Abigail Gentges. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 


A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Father Bill Mcvey officiating. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rev. Betty Ruth Martin, 78, passed away, Tuesday, April 02, 2013, with family by her side at her sister’s home.  She was born on January 6, 1935, in Pettis County, a daughter of Alva and Arizona (Paxton) Lemens.

On October 22, 1976 she was united in marriage to Dr. Rev. Harvey Lee Martin, who survives of the home.

Betty was ordained into Pentecostal Ministry on March 19, 1962.  She was instrumental in producing the record “New Dawn Trio” at Bill Gaither Studio in Alexander, IN.  She loved gospel music, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren and family. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Sherry Harris of Sedalia, Robert "Jim" (Sandra) McCall of Clarksville, TN and Connie (Brent) Sandidge of Marshall; one sister, Helen Alford of Sedalia; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn McFarland; five sisters, Margaret Schick, Virginia Brockman, Georgia McCall, Anna Marie and Alma Lucille; two brothers, Alva and William Lemens.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at New Life Church of the Open Bible at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 5, 2013, with Pastor Mark Kosifas officiating. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Roger W. Drenon, 34, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013.  He was born on December 3, 1978, in Red Bluff, CA, a son of Willard Drenon and Christina Rogers (Brosch).

 

He enjoyed listening to country music and taking car rides, especially to McDonalds.

 

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Carrie Mullins McCown of Sedalia and Staci Petersen of Sedalia; one brother, Lanny Mullins of Dairyville, CA.

 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dwaine Drenon.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 6:30-7:30 pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to The Special Olympics, EW Thompson State School or donor’s choice.

Robert “Bob” Alfred Weise, 65, of Sedalia, passed away peacefully, with family
by his side on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.  He
was born on May 2, 1947, in Sedalia, a son of LaMoyne and Maurice (Burford)
Weise.

He enjoyed going to the casinos and playing scratcher lottery tickets. Bob
served his country honorably in the US Army, Vietnam.

He is survived by a brother, Larry (Toni) Weise of Sedalia; three nephews,
Daniel Rachilla, Jerry Rachilla and Garry Voight; four nieces, Julie Wasson,
Christina Voight, Sherry Morris, and Stephanie Weise-Gudde.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Voight and
Linda Rachilla; two brothers, LaMoyne Weise, Jr. and Donald Weise.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Linda S. (Waterfield) Dorrance, 66 of Sedalia passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 11, 1947 in Boonville, MO, a daughter of Eugene and Ilene (Spry) Waterfield.

On April 29, 1970 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Nolan “Bill” Dorrance, who preceded her in death on June 29, 2011.

She enjoyed playing golf and Mahjogg.  Her true passion was reading.  She was a member of the Jewish Synagogue Temple BethEL in Sedalia, Beta Sigma Phi Chapter Master Nu Alpha and Women of the Moose Lodge 1494. 

She is survived by a daughter, Crystal (Morgan) Meyer of Sedalia; a granddaughter, Sara Meyer (Andrew Jones) of Sedalia and a grandson and Joseph Meyer of Cole Camp; a great granddaughter, Kylie Jones; a niece, Jill McCann of Florida; a nephew Joe McCann of California; an uncle, Emmette Cox of Windsor and many cousins.


Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon McCann and a brother, Larry Waterfield. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Ed Broyles officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the chapel.  Burial will be in Dresden cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be given The Sedalia Animal Shelter or The American Cancer Society in care of the funeral chapel.
