Joy A. Hoard, 76, of Sedalia, passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on April 18, 1936, in Sedalia, a daughter of Darrell and Ruth (Tietze) Harmon.
Joy was a 1954 graduate of Smith Cotton High School and a graduate of Central Business College. During her life, she worked at a number of places, including: Morrison Knudsen, Show-Me Regional Planning Commission, Rural Missouri, Inc., Seminole Decor Center and Sutherlands. She also served as a consultant to assist companies to improve business processes. She loved spending time with family, friends and classmates. Joy was a member of The Red Hat Ladies and Immanuel United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two children, Laurie (Rick) Thomas of Mtn Home, AR and David (Beth) Hoard of Greenwood, IN; three grandchildren, Christopher, Emily and Abby; one cousin, Marilyn DeHaven of Sedalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Tony Neth, James McFatrich, Rick Thomas and Christopher Ditzfeld.
Honorary bearers will be Jeff and Pat DeHaven.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Harry Lester Blundell, 91, of Lincoln, MO passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, MO. He was born on August 10, 1921, in Kansas City, KS, a son of Harry Luther and Meda (Silvers) Blundell.
On February 2, 1943 in Kansas City, he was united in marriage to Dorotha Dickson, who survives of the home.
Harry enjoyed living in the country, loved walking the hills with Dorotha and mushroom hunting. He was a charter member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Lee’s Summit, MO. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII, serving on the USS Sailfish Submarine.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, David Keith Blundell and his wife Sandra of Gallatin, MO, Harry Lester Blundell and his wife Kathi of Springdale, AR and James Luther Blundell and his wife JoAnna of Lincoln, MO; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Janice, Timothy, Roger, David, Shelley, Amy and Harrison; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Meda Scarlett and her husband Irvin of Gardner, KS and Laura Beasley of Olathe, KS and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen McCubbins and three brothers, Donald, Roy and Robert Blundell.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dorothy Alene Demand, 86, of Smithton, passed away, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Rest Haven Convalescent Home. She was born on December 10, 1926, in Sedalia, a daughter of Bruce and Veva (Lee) Ulmer.
On December 25, 1943, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Louis "Bud"
Kahrs Demand, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2007.
Dorothy worked many years at the Pettis County Courthouse in the Recorder's Office before being elected as the Pettis County Recorder of Deeds. She loved to read and work outdoors in her yard. She always contributed to the family bicentennial farm. She enjoyed traveling, collecting rabbits and shopping.
Dorothy was a member of the Lake Creek United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years, and the United
Methodist Womens group.
She is survived by two children, Donna (Jeff) Gary of Smithton and Diann (Tom) Gordon of Sedalia; one sister, Karen (Jerry) Wagor of Milford, KS; four grandchildren, Todd LaBille, Dara Wood, Justin Demand and Jordon Hamby.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Dean Demand; one sister, Darlene Meyer and one brother, James Sonny Ulmer; and one grandson, Jared Lee LaBille.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 25, 2013, at Lake
Creek United Methodist Church, Smithton, with Rev. Dan Page and Rev. Jason Veale officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Burial will be at Lake Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Demand, Joshua Gary, Todd LaBille, Mike Wood, Jim Kiely, Junior Culp and Gail Demand. Honorary pallbearers will be Dara Wood,
Jordon Hamby, Tia Demand, Carolyn LaBille, Megan LaBille and Mary Merk.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lake Creek Cemetery Fund in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Esperanza Ficarra, 82, of Sedalia, passed away, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on January 19, 1931, in Kahuku, HI a daughter of Condrada Taitin-Mortos.
On June 9, 2012 she was united in marriage to Robert Ficarra, who survives of the home.
She enjoyed cross word puzzles, cooking, going to the boats, and taking care of her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Terry Maghanoy of HI and Amelia Millus of Sedalia; twelve grandchildren including: Kaipo, Kimo, Malia, Stacey, Tracey, Bruce and Michael; two great grandchildren; fourteen brothers and sisters including: Indai Reeves of TX and Pablo Garcia of HI.
She was preceded in death by three children, Alfred Jr. Maghanoy, Johnathan Maghanoy, and Caralee Maghanoy.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:45pm, Friday, February 22, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
Mass of Christian burial will be held following visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sedalia at 2:00 pm with Father Mark Miller, C.PP.S officiating.
