Ali Brooke Schoenthal, 16, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on November 14, 2008, in Marshall, MO, the daughter of Terry A. Schoenthal and Ashley B. (Gillespie) Schoenthal, who reside in the home.
Ali loved listening to music, skateboarding, reading, and taking selfies. She especially cherished spending time with her family and friends. With a great sense of humor, she had a special talent for making people laugh and smile. Her mom, Ashley, described her as her "shining light."
In addition to her parents, Ali is survived by two brothers, Jonathan Gillespie and Matthew Schoenthal both of Sedalia; a sister, Caitlyn Chewning of Ionia, MO; maternal grandparents, Penni Hendrickson (Dan) of Lincoln, MO, and Joey Gillespie (Linda) of South Carolina; paternal grandfather, Gary Schoenthal of Great Falls, MT; and her uncle, Chris Schoenthal (Cherie) of Sedalia.
Ali was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Sally McConnell.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kevin Anstine officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Honorary bearers will be Anthony Brown, Dmitrii Cosurco, Nick Orloff, Dominick Dryden, Whitney Curry, and Arial Brown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
