Alverda Ann Koetting

Alverda (Ann) Koetting passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO, at the age of 93. She was born on February 19, 1932, near Chamois, MO, the daughter of Otto and Florence (Schollmeyer) Boss.

Ann was one of twelve children. She married Francis Koetting on January 12, 1952, and they had six children: Pam, Quintin, Greg, Jeff, Doug, and Chris. In 1960, she moved to Sedalia. Ann was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Church, where she started a preschool. She also worked as a teacher at the Children's Therapy Center, which is now called the Center for Human Services. Ann loved both teaching and gardening. As she and Fran became empty nesters, they traveled to Europe, Brazil, and various places across the United States, enjoying bus tours along the way.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Pam (John) Johnson of North Beach, Maryland; sons, Greg (Sherry) of Jefferson City, MO, Jeff (Darcia), Doug (Tammy), and Chris, all of Sedalia. She also had 13 grandchildren, Jenny (Luke), Amanda, Laura (Alex), Quinten (Krista), Carleigh (Robert), Coulten (Aubry), Courtney (Corey), Cassie (Terry), Morgan, Ashley, Hunter, Chandler, and Sierra; four step-grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Jake, and Alaina; along with nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Fran; infant son, Quintin; a step-grandchild, Craig; and 11 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, St. Patrick's Church, Sedalia, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joe Corel officiating.

Entombment will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
