Obituary For Andrew (Andy) M. Klein

Andrew Max Klein "Andy" (90) passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by the love of his family, due to complications of a farming accident. He was born January 20, 1933, to Lawrence P. & Helena Klein in Bahner, MO. He was one of 11 brothers and sisters, of which he and his sister, Pat, were the last two surviving. For being 90 years old, looking at Andy, you would never know it. He still looked after his cattle every morning and bailed hay this summer. Not to mention he still always looked after all of us. He was, and always will be, our family's backbone. If there was one thing you could say about Andy's life, it was that he lived it, every moment, to the absolute fullest.

Coming from such a large family, he had to trade in his schoolbooks for work boots at a fairly young age. Being that he navigated his way through life with only an 8th-grade education, a fair amount of common sense, and one hell of a work ethic, I'd say he did alright. At around 18, he met the woman he would call his wife for the 65 years they were on this Earth together, and eternity now together in Heaven. By 25, the Lord had blessed them with four beautiful children; three sons and one daughter. Andy was a working man, putting in 47 years at Pittsburgh Corning and a lifetime on the farm. He had a matter-of-fact way about him, but more often than not, he was right. He loved his dog Snowball, being outdoors, taking care of his cattle, and also his family. If we can take anything from Andy's life, let it be this. If there is anything you want in this life…you gotta work for it, and if it's worth working for, it probably ain't gonna come easy. But rest assured that at the end of a hard day's work, know that every drop of sweat and sore muscle is worth it to be able to live a life you love with the people that you love. And never take those things for granted because we never know what tomorrow may bring. So work hard, play harder, live like you are dying, and LOVE like it's your last day on Earth. He was a wonderful great-grandfather, grandfather, father, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed.

Andy is survived by four children, Vicki Klein and her husband Joseph Jones, Tim Klein, Corey Klein, Chelsea Klein; grandchildren, Jeremy Klein, Jason Klein, Chris Klein, Tim Klein Jr., April Norman, Amanda Knifong, and Laine Wilson; great-grandchildren, Drew Lange, Scottie Lange, Carollyn Caldwell, Michael Klein, Mason Klein, Harmon Woolery, and Parker Knifong; a great-great-grandson, Matthew Caldwell; a sister, Pat Ferguson; sister-in-law, Gwenie Klein; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, and wife, Carol, he is preceded in death by a son shortly after birth, Ricky Klein; another son, Steve Klein; a grandson, Justin Klein; close family friend, Russell (Rusty) Bain; and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with pastor Jason McClain officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Drew Lange, Scottie Lange, Michael Klein, Mason Klein, Chris Klein, Tim Klein Jr., Laine Wilson, Jeremy Klein, Jason Klein, Carollyn Caldwell, April Norman, Amanda Knifong, Harmon Woolery, and Parker Knifong.
