Angela Marie Hern, 57, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at her home on November 26, 2023. She was born on April 6, 1966, in Clarence, MO, the daughter of Daniel Eugine Hern and Betty Jean (Franklin) Hern, who preceded her in death.
Angela was born at her home in Clarence, MO. She fondly remembered her mother and father telling many stories of her growing up with them. Angela took care of them in their later years at their home. As a child, Angela enjoyed drawing and playing games like softball and kickball with her siblings. She loved all her 14 siblings but was especially close to her little sister Tracy. Angela had a very strong faith that began as a child. She was a member of the Pentecostal church, “The First Assembly of God.” She was an active church member and a part of the missionettes. She would often go camping with her church group. After school, she lived in numerous states. She went to college and eventually found her love of working at a bank, becoming a loan officer. She learned multiple languages, including Spanish and ASL, which helped her care for many children in her home. She was greatly loved and fondly remembered by many friends and family, whom she kept in contact with until her death.
Survivors include three sons, Edwin Bonilla of New Jersey, Frank Barnhill (Christene) of Warrensburg, Nathan Hern of Sedalia; a daughter, Karla Barnhill (Kevin) of Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Catalina; four brothers, Mike Hern of Winter Haven, CA, Floyd Hern (Maria) of Yuma, AZ, David Hern (Tina) of Sedalia, and Daniel Hern of Sedalia; six sisters, Elaine Bergiano of Monroe, MO, Mary Garcia (Franklin) of Yuma, AZ, Shirley Surano (Kingshaw) of Kansas City, MO, Rusty McPherson (Larry) of Louisville, KY, Kathy Hern of Wichita, KS, and Tracy Diaz (Max) of Sedalia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Angela was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Hern and John Hern, and a sister, Melinda Perez.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Ramona Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Ellie White Foundation in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
