Anita Jo Busker, 88, of Wagoner, OK, formerly of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at her daughter's home in Wagoner. Born on July 24, 1936, in Sedalia, she was the cherished daughter of Norman William and Fern Louise (Brownfield) Bottcher, both of whom preceded her in death.
On October 1, 1955, Anita married, Freddie Eugene Busker, who passed away on October 11, 2017.
A proud graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in 1954, Anita was an active member of the Church of Christ in Sedalia. She began her career as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, but her most rewarding role was being a devoted mother to her four children. Once they were in school, she drove a school bus for Belton Public Schools. After returning to Sedalia, she contributed to the community by working at St. Paul Lutheran School, driving an OATS bus, and lovingly caring for infants at Melita Day Nursery. In addition to these roles, she assisted her husband in various business ventures, including an insurance agency, a used car dealership, a lumber yard, and numerous rental properties.
Anita's passions included fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. On weekends, she could always be found in the bleachers, cheering on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren at their sporting events. She was known for her delicious cooking, especially her famous pizza, goulash, banana pudding, and fudge. Anita was instrumental in organizing reunions and monthly lunches for former Jefferson School students and volunteered with the local Girl Scouts. She enjoyed traveling, dining out, shopping, and pampering herself with manicures.
Anita is survived by two daughters, Hollie Napier of Sedalia and Cheryl Goodman and her husband David of Wagoner, OK; a son, Tim Busker and his wife Debbie of Warrensburg, MO; a sister, Janie Bohon (Bob) of Columbia, MO; eleven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Busker, and her son-in-law, Fred Napier.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Pastor David Krueger officiating. Visitation will take place at Rea Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Joshua Goodman, Zachary Goodman, Jacob Goodman, Jason Busker, Justin Bohon, and Scott Bottcher.
