Art was a proud graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, Class of 1982, where he was a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track. Throughout his working years, Art was employed by Leggett & Platt in Carthage, MO, and later worked as a cook at Colton's Steak House in Sedalia.

Art enjoyed listening to music and spending time with those he loved. Above all, his greatest joy was his family and the relationships he shared with them. His faith was also an important part of his life, and he cherished his relationship with his Lord and Savior.
