Barbara Sue Johnson

Barbara Sue Johnson, 76, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. She was born on December 10, 1945, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Frederick J. Taylor and Dorothy (Williams) Taylor, who preceded her in death.

On October 24, 1967, in Miami, OK, she was united in marriage to Gary V. Johnson, who resides in the home.

Barbara retied July 1, 2012 from E. W. Thompson State School. She enjoyed traveling with Gary and playing bingo at the Sedalia VFW. She also enjoyed planting flowers around her home, going shopping, and going to garage sales. Barbara especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Barbara is survived by two children, Kim Murphy and her husband Monty of Blackwater, MO, and Gary W. Johnson and his wife Angel of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Kyle, Mason, and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Weston and Greyson.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a sister Linda Lou Behymer.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Satterwhite officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
