Obituary For Benito Rodriguez

Benito Rodriguez Sr., 68, of Green Ridge, MO, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, with his family by his side. He was born on January 30, 1954 in Kansas City, KS the son of Manuel Rodriguez and Betty Jean (Cox) Rodriguez, who preceded him in death.

On September 17, 1970, in Kansas City, MO, he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Ryan, who resides in the home.

Ben was one who always loved to make everyone laugh. His love for his family and grandchildren cannot be measured. Things he enjoyed most were leading bible studies, his farm animals, gardening, and fishing. He also loved watching boxing, woodworking, showing grandkids magic tricks, along with giving them an abundant amount of suckers. He loved his dog as if they were his own children. He also enjoyed sitting on the deck with his Rosa and having coffee at sunrise and kool aid at sunset. If he would see a stranger with a baby he would tell them, "When you kiss that baby, that's the closest thing you will get to kissing Jesus." He is dancing in heaven without pain or suffering, with his family. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten.

Along with his wife, Benny is survived by four children, Richard Rodriguez (Brandi) of Green Ridge, Benito Rodriguez, Jr. (Kimberly) of Sedalia, Amy Brockman (Troy) of Hughesville, Delores Meyer (Robert) of Sedalia; fourteen grandchildren, Cobey Johnson, Chelsey Johnson, Katlin Rodriguez, Cassidy Gifford, Autumn Boles, Chance Crosswhite, Alexander Brockman, Corbin Meyer, Zane Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Hannah Meyer, Shane Meyer, Vivian Crain, and Hallie Meyer; six great-grandchildren, Zadia Johnson, Elisha Wilson, Miah Gifford, Cade Johnson, Olivia Taylor, and Sebastian Gifford; a sister, Frances Rodriguez of Osawatomie, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela D. Rodriguez; two brothers, Manuel Rodriguez, Jr., and Richard Rodriguez; two sisters, Dolores Rodriguez and Theresa Swisher.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Parkview Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Randleman officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
