Bennett Brooks Twenter, just 16 months old, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Born on April 28, 2023, in Sedalia, Bennett was the cherished son of Joshua Stephen Twenter and Kristina Ann McGrath, who hold him in their hearts forever.
Affectionately known as "Benny," he was the sweet, final piece that completed his family of seven. His infectious laughter, bright smile, and loving spirit touched everyone around him. Benny's hugs were treasures to his older brothers, and his twin brother Beckett will deeply miss his best friend and closest companion. His radiant smile lit up every room he entered, and though his time was short, his joy left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. It's not goodbye, "Benny bug"-it's only "see you later."
Bennett is lovingly survived by his twin brother, Beckett, and his brothers Riley, Jaxon, and Jaden, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Shelly and Daniel McGrath of Independence, MO; paternal grandparents, Steve and Renee Twenter of Sedalia, and Bill and Melody Parris of Hughesville, MO; his paternal great-grandmother, Ethel Esser of Sedalia; as well as his aunts, uncle, and cousin, Nikki and Brandon Nelson, Kelsey McGrath, and Sawyer Nelson. He is also mourned by a large extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He joins in heaven his maternal great-grandparents, Barbara and George Chase, and his paternal great-grandparents, Jay and Marvella Twenter, and Alvin Esser, who will welcome him with open arms.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Vincent de Paul Parish, with Father Joe Corel officiating. A recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
Benny's brothers, Jaden, Jaxon, Riley, and Beckett, will serve as honorary bearers in tribute to the bond they shared.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his parents Josh and Kristina to assist with the purchase of a monument for Bennett, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
