Obituary For Betty Lorain Davis

Betty Lorain Davis, 86, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sedalia. She was born on July 19, 1936, in California, MO, the daughter of John Clinton and Iva Lorain Sommers, who preceded her in death.

On May 13, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jacob Davis, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2020.

Betty loved all aspects of fashion, including clothes, jewelry, and shoes. She worked as a waitress, where she met her husband. In her later years, she became a QVC enthusiast. Betty loved her little black poodles. She was proud of her family, especially her grandkids. Her favorite places to travel were Las Vegas and New York City. Later in life, she worked at Western Sizzler as a hostess for several years.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Gerry Gail Coffelt (Kenneth) of Sedalia; a son, Tony Bert Davis of New York City, NY; a daughter-in-law, Melanie of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Matthew Coffelt (Beth) of Kansas City, MO, Ashley Coffelt-Warren (Andrew) of Ohio, Trevor Davis (Sarah) of Sedalia, and Shelbi Davis of Columbia, MO; three great-grandchildren, Ella Warren, Clara Coffelt, and Rowan Davis; one sister, Mary Riley of Sedalia, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Terry Jacob Davis; a daughter in infancy, Diane Davis; a grandson, Jacob Davis; six siblings, Wendall Sommers, Harold Sommers, Ruby Zubrod, Billy Sommers, Opal Bowman, and Arnold Sommers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Coffelt, Trevor Davis, Shelbi Davis, Timothy Riley, Kenneth Coffelt, and Connie Sommers .

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
