Brian P. "BJ" Perkins, 45, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on November 5, 1980, in Papillion, Nebraska, the son of Randy L. Perkins, who preceded him in death, and Theresa A. Perkins, who resides in Holts Summit, Missouri.

BJ was a devoted and proud father who loved his children with all his heart. Being their dad was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he especially enjoyed attending their sporting events and supporting them in the activities they loved. BJ also had a love for music and enjoyed spending time watching movies with his children. The time he shared with them, whether cheering them on from the sidelines or simply enjoying a movie together, was very special to him.

In addition to his mother, BJ is survived by his three children, Emerson, Luca, and Rocco Perkins, and their mother, Mandy Simpson; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Perkins of Sedalia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

In addition to his father, BJ was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Perkins.

A celebration of BJ's life will be held at a later date, with family and friends gathering to remember and honor him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mandy Simpson for the benefit of BJ's children's education fund.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
