Obituary For Calvin (Butch) L. Marshall

Calvin L. Marshall(Butch),70, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Sedalia, transitioned from this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born on July 10, 1952, in Sedalia, to Mary ‘Minnie’ Hill, who preceded him in death.

As a Smith-Cotton alum, he excelled in sports and passed that same love down to his grandchildren. He worked as a line technician for many years at Kraft Foods, displaying a knack for problem-solving and leadership. Calvin truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: outings with family and friends, being a car enthusiast, and his love of fashion.

Calvin is survived by his significant other, Coretha Kerr of Columbia; seven children, Swanetta Marshall of Sedalia, Yolanda Cook (Kelvin) of Columbia, Yomara Marshall of Columbia, Wynter Geiler (Jeffery) of Sedalia, Capreece Kerr of Columbia, Ciera Hyler (Henry) of Columbia, and Chaunice Kerr of Columbia; his bonus children, Taijah Jones of Columbia and Keeon Marshall of Columbia; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Hill, Debra Gary, Francis Hill, and Cleo Marshall; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will truly be missed by all.

In addition to his mother, Calvin was preceded in death by his former spouse, Sharon Marshall; three brothers, Wayman Marshall, William Hill, and Robert Marshall; and a grandson, TreVeon Marshall.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Calvin touched are invited to the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Noah Poole officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Pallbearers will be Dreshawn Marshall, Martavius Mabon, Zeontrez Marshall, Keeon Marshall, Demareo Boyd, Jr., and Kelvin Cook.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
