Obituary For Carolyn Sue Foster

Carolyn Sue Foster, 80, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on May 23, 1943, in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of Edward Price Vaughan and Edna May (Klick) Vaughan, who preceded her in death.

On October 19, 1963 in Jefferson City, MO, she was united in marriage to James Foster, who resides in the home.

Sue was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She attended the University of Missouri where she met the love of her life, James Foster, on a blind date. Sue and her husband, Jim, owned and operated Jim's Gardens Center for over 40 years in Sedalia. She and Jim hosted an hour long gardening show on KSIS and then later KDRO radio stations from 1980 until 2010. Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling out west to Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada. She especially loved her family and spending time together.

Along with her husband, Sue is survived by two sons, James Edward Foster and Price Luther Foster and his wife Brandi all of Sedalia; one grandson, Jacob Key; two sisters, June Mengwasser (Kenneth) of Jefferson City, and Laurie Fry of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Church of Christ with Minister Robert Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
