Catherine Elizabeth Farris

Catherine Elizabeth Farris, 86, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. She was born on August 2, 1935 in Sedalia the daughter of Joseph Elwood Fisher and Mabel Marie (Bass) Fisher, who both preceded her in death.

On November 16, 1984 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Ralph Farris, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2018.

Catherine loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting out on her front porch and listening to country music. She and her sister Shirley sang on the radio at one of the local country radio stations, in their younger years.

Survivors include five children, Mary Frances Parker of Houston, TX, Sherrie Parker of Sedalia, Teresa Tyler of Louisiana; Randy E. Parker of Sedalia, and Lela Johnson of Richmond, MO; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Elwood Fisher (Kay) of Sedalia and Steven Vinson of Sedalia; two sisters, Karen Sherman (Larry) of Center Town, MO and Janice Wiser of Sedalia;

In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Fisher and Dale Wayne Vinson; three sisters, Shirley Wilson, Melva Vinson, and Naomi Fisher.

A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Chances R in Sedalia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
