Chance Theodore Christian

Chance Theodore Christian, 19, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 8, 2023. He was born on October 18, 2003, in Libertyville, IL, the son of Rickey Garvel Christian and Mandi Ann (Mammen) Christian.

Chance was a 2022 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He lettered in diving his freshman year at Smith-Cotton. Chance was an adventurous young man. He enjoyed dirt bike riding, cliff diving, skateboarding, and online gaming. Chance was always looking for his next big adventure or exciting activity. He also enjoyed quiet times, family, and friends, or just getting together to hang out and talk. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Chance is survived by three siblings, Jackson Smith, Alexis Christian (Cain Young), and Colt Christian, all of Sedalia; paternal grandparents, Vickey Spruell and Rickey Christian, Sr. of Sedalia; maternal grandparents, Steve and Joni Hughes of Sedalia, and Robert Mammen of Chillicothe, MO; girlfriend, Isabella Norton of Sedalia; three uncles, Eddie Scroggins (Angie) of Warrensburg, Travis Christian (Kendra Jett) of Sedalia, and Rob Mammen (Melissa) of Boonville, MO; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Hughes of Chillicothe, MO, and many cousins.

Chance was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Georgia Jackson, Theodore Sr., Georgia Christian, and William Griggs; maternal great-grandparents, John and Nevis Mammen and Clifford Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Steve Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the funeral home.
