Obituary For Charles David Hopkins

Charles David Hopkins, 71, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Four Season Living Center in Sedalia. He was born on September 2, 1951, in Otterville, MO, the son of Charles A. Hopkins and Nadine Oehrke (Blakesly) Hopkins, who preceded him in death.

On September 6, 2003, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Diane Denese Hopkins, who resides in the home.

Charles was a 1969 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He then graduated from State Fair Community College with an Associate's Degree. He worked at Kelsey-Hayes for 22 years. Charles later worked for Inter-State Studios for 16 years, retiring in 2016. He enjoyed riding motorcycles (Harley-Davidson), building and restoring old cars, bar-b-ques, going to swap meets, going to yard sales, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by six children, Tammy Hankins (Tim) of Sedalia, Scott Hopkins (Jennifer) of Blue Springs, Stephanie Hopkins of Sedalia, Dawn Diamond (Steve) of Cole Camp, Sarah Hendrix of Eldon, and William Boles (Amanda) of Edwards; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with chaplain Erich Kurz officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
