Obituary

Christopher Charles Green, 48, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at his home in Sedalia.

He was born on October 9, 1978, at Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines, the son of Ira Charlie Green, who preceded him in death, and Maria S. (Belen) Green, who survives in La Monte, MO.

On July 17, 2001, in La Monte, MO, he was united in marriage to Jessica Martin, who survives in La Monte.

Chris was a proud graduate of La Monte High School, Class of 1996. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy Reserve. His distinguished military career spanned 25 years, from 1996 until his retirement in 2021, and included four years of active-duty service. During his time in the Navy, Chris served aboard the USS Essex and participated in deployments throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. He proudly retired in 2021 with the rank of Petty Officer First Class (PO1). His dedication to his country and the friendships he formed throughout his military career were a source of great pride.

Throughout his working career, Chris was known for his technical skills and strong work ethic. He previously worked as a biomedical technician at the Dialysis Clinic in Sedalia and was most recently employed as a refrigeration technician at Tyson Foods.

Chris had an adventurous spirit and a genuine enthusiasm for life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and visiting the shooting range. Always eager to experience something new, he loved traveling to unfamiliar places, discovering new adventures, and trying new things. He was also an avid collector of Pokémon cards and LEGO sets, enjoyed playing video games, and had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets.

Above all, Chris treasured his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he loved, sharing laughter, making memories, and celebrating birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. The Fourth of July held a particularly special place in his heart, as it brought together his love for family, celebration, and the country he so proudly served. Whether enjoying a family gathering or simply spending time with his children, Chris valued the moments that brought everyone together. His adventurous nature, love for his family, and the memories he created will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his five children, Hannah Bryan (Thomas), Hunter Green (Alyssa), Gunner Green (Michel), Gage Green, and Isabelle Green, all of La Monte, MO; two brothers, Gerald Green of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Ira Green of La Monte, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father, Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arngie and Orlena Green; and his maternal grandparents, Rufo and Josefina Belen.

A Mass of Christian Burial, along with a Rosary and visitation, will be announced at a later date.

Burial with military honors will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, at a date and time to be announced.
