Obituary

Craig Rea Guffin, 62, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at his home.

He was born on January 10, 1964, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Fred Guffin and Linda (Craig) Saylor, who preceded him in death.

On September 16, 1983, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Sue Ann (Hammond) Guffin, who survives of the home. Together, they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Craig grew up in the Houstonia, Sedalia, and Sweet Springs areas. Shortly after high school, he began his journey working at Parkhurst Manufacturing and Waterloo Industries both in Sedalia. Craig then began his career at Hayes Wheels in Sedalia. He later pursued a career in real estate alongside his wife, Sue, with the two earning their real estate licenses together. They began working with Century 21 Curry Realty and continued their careers with various real estate companies throughout the years, most recently with Preferred Properties. Craig was also employed at Prysmian Group in Sedalia.

An avid outdoorsman, Craig had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing. He found great enjoyment in the outdoors, whether spending time in the woods or enjoying a peaceful day on the water. He appreciated life's simple pleasures and the memories made along the way.

Above all, Craig was a devoted family man who treasured the time he spent with those he loved. Holidays, family gatherings, and special occasions were especially meaningful to him. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. The love he had for his family and the memories they shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

In addition to his loving wife, Sue, Craig is survived by a son, Courtney Guffin and his wife, Hannah, of Longview, Texas; a daughter, Kristina Marquess and her husband, Rocky, of Marshall, Missouri; seven cherished grandchildren; a brother, Bryon Guffin and his wife, April, of Dresden, Missouri; two sisters, Shelley Lowry of Sedalia, Missouri, and Marala Helms of Eldon, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Craig will be fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors, his devotion to his family, and the many special moments he shared with those closest to him. Although his presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
