Curtis Dale Miller, 73, of Sedalia, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Missouri. He was born on November 11, 1952, in Troy, Missouri, the son of James William Miller and Virginia Ann (Crane) Miller, who preceded him in death.

On August 20, 1994, in Sedalia, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Nancy A. Paxton, who survives of the home.

Curtis attended McCluer High School in Florissant, Missouri, before enlisting in the United States Army. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. Following his military service, Curtis worked for Circus Vargus, the St. Louis Zoo, and later as a painter by trade in the family business.

Curtis was a lifetime member of the VFW Riders, served as a VFW Service Officer, and volunteered for many years at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles and loved spending time at the lake with his family, boating and water skiing. Curtis was known as a wonderful storyteller, whether sharing true stories or tales from his imagination. He especially cherished time spent gathering with family and friends and going on poker runs with his motorcycle buddies. He was also instrumental in bringing REO Speedwagon and J.D. Blackfoot to veteran benefit shows.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, Curtis is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Toledo of Wichita, Kansas; a stepson, Jacob Paxton of Sedalia; two brothers, Neal Miller (Terry) of St. Clair, Missouri, and Steve Miller (Linda) of Troy, Missouri; a sister, Nita Miller of Florissant, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica G'sell.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel.
