Deborah Lyn Bentzin, 72, of Otterville, MO passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on November 16, 1948 in Sedalia, MO the daughter of Donald Max and Mildred Virginia (Richardson) Clifford, who preceded her in death.
On May 13, 1978 in Otterville, MO she was united in marriage to Robert Edwin Bentzin, who resides in the home.
Debbie was 1966 graduate of Smithton High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Bahner, MO. Debbie worked for J.A. Lamy's Manufacturing and Neet Products before opening Country Critters & More. She provided handmade clothing, appliqued t-shirts, sweatshirts, stuffed animals, dolls, alterations and more. Debbie loved sewing for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, watching baseball, game shows on TV, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her most recent passion was quilting. Debbie was very active at the Otterville Senior Center. She was a wonderful cook, well-known for her coconut cream pies and chocolate cake with caramel icing. Bob and Debbie put out a huge garden every year and Debbie canned many quarts of tomatoes, green beans and other vegetables while also sharing with family, friends, and neighbors.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Matthew Dieckman (Charla) of Sedalia; a brother, Tim Clifford (Mary) of Kingsville, MO; three grandchildren, Michelle Powers (Nathan), Cheldyn Harvey, and Aaron Dieckman (Christine); three great grandchildren, Adelle, Raedyn, and Tucker; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Clifford and Paula Clifford; a nephew, Patrick; and three nieces, Sara, Lisa, and Ashley; five great nephews, Garrett, Emory, Owen, Gabriel, and Jace; two great nieces, Lindsay and Blair; and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas P. and Joseph Kevin Clifford.
A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Otterville Senior Center or to the Lamine River Hunt Club in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
