Donald "Ducky" Edward Paxton, 72, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. He was born on March 25, 1954, in Sedalia, the son of Robert M. Paxton and Elsie (Morley) Paxton, who preceded him in death.
Ducky was united in marriage to Yolanda Sue Morgan, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2013.
Throughout his life, Ducky was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to put in an honest day's work. He was employed at several local businesses, including Swift Manufacturing and Hill Construction Company, and most recently worked for the Sedalia Water Department.
Ducky enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time outdoors, casting a fishing line, and taking pride in keeping his yard looking its best. He was also an avid and highly skilled pool player who enjoyed competing in local pool leagues throughout Sedalia. Known as one of the best players around, Ducky earned the respect and friendship of many fellow players over the years.
Above all, Ducky treasured his family, especially his grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with them, making memories, and, of course, spoiling them every chance he got. His love for his family and the special moments they shared will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Ducky is survived by his three children, Chris Paxton (Tonya), Shaun Paxton, and Brandi Arnold and her husband, Michael, all of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Ali, Rylee, Kinzer, Kyelar, Laney, Kayden, and Karleigh; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Roy Paxton and William "Bill" Paxton; three sisters, Edith Simons and her husband, Lloyd, Shirley Blacklock, and Joyce Sisemore; his four legged companion "Wally"; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ducky was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Paxton and Gary Paxton; three sisters, Ruby Harrison, Betty Aldrich, and Velma Paxton; and a grandson, Jacob Michael Paxton.
A celebration of Ducky's life and gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
