Dorothy Delores "Dee" Boyd Anderson, 98, of Sedalia Missouri, passed away August 20, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Joe Glaze in Windsor, Missouri, surrounded by loving family. She was born to Elmer and Cecil Boyd on May 5th 1928, just before the start of the Great Depression, in rural Tulare, South Dakota.

Dee was a graduate of Huron College. Huron, South Dakota, having earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics. She worked as an X-ray technician and a Braniff Airlines flight attendant in her early adult years.

On November 22, 1953, she married John T Anderson. John was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy, serving as an oral surgeon, and Dee began the adventure of being a military wife, a role she embraced with enthusiasm for the next 23 years. Together, and on the go, John and Dee raised three children, Dee always creating a warm and loving home wherever the Navy sent them, and send them it did. Among Dee's favorite duty stations were San Clemente and Vista, CA; Naples, Italy; Rota, Spain; and the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

In 1976 Dee and John T began their post Navy life in Sedalia, MO. Dee was instrumental in building John's Oral Surgery practice over the next 17 years. Embracing her new hometown with her usual enthusiasm, Dee invested deeply into the community, her friends and her beloved Maplewood Church family. Wherever she saw a need she was the first to step in and lend a hand. Service to others was at the core of who she was.

A few of Dee's favorite Sedalia things: the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival, the Missouri State Fair, the Sedalia Music Club, and the Knife and Fork Club.

Dee's greatest joy to the end of her days was her family. From distant cousins to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they all meant the world to her and enriched her life. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Renee and Joe Glaze, Kim and Brad McDonald and John Anderson, 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Maplewood Church rural Sedalia, Missouri. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
