Obituary For Edna A. Klein

Edna A. Klein, 94, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Primrose Assisted Living in Sedalia. She was born on February 4, 1929, near Cole Camp, MO, the daughter of John W. Brosch and Margaret (Perkins) Brosch, who preceded her in death.

On September 4, 1948, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Amos J. Klein, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2006.

Edna attended Rural Liberty School and later was offered the opportunity to receive her GED in 1989 from State Fair Community College. She worked at Town & Country Shoe Factory as a fancy stitcher for 30 years until the factory's closing in 1988. She also worked at Head Start School for three years. After retiring from there, she worked part-time at Consigning Women.

Edna was a strong and devoted partner and mother. She was also a very devoted Catholic. She loved to sew and do needlepoint for quilts which she has made, can vegetables, work in the garden, plant flowers, and sing in church and at home. In addition, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edna is survived by three children, Mark Klein of Sedalia, Diane Bottcher (Jim) of Sedalia, and Gary Klein (Jeanne) of Reading, PA; a sister, Mary Ulmer of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Kylie, Kelsee, John, and Caitlin; six great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Bill Stuhner.

Edna lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, joy, laughter, friendship, and love. She was a beautiful individual, and we know she has taken that love and grace into her next stop on this journey. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Horrell, and three brothers, Robert Brosch, LeRoy Brosch, and Charles Brosch.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Deacon Arvol Bartok officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Tim Horrell, Keith Bahner, Jeff Ransdell, John Klein, Ben Allison, Daniel McMahon, and Kevin Ulmer.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
