In Loving Memory of Enrique "Ricky" Reyes Cook

February 16, 1976 - October 6, 2025

Enrique "Ricky" Reyes Cook passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on October 6, 2025, in Sedalia, Missouri, at the age of 49.

Ricky lived life on his own terms and always made the absolute most of every moment. He truly lived by the words of Booker T. Washington: "If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." He had a big, generous heart and was forgiving to a fault, always looking out for everyone-even those who had done him wrong. He believed, as Charles Dickens wrote, that "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another."

He was a real OG, as real as they come. He was loved by everyone. His contagious laugh and room-lighting smile will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

A man of many talents, Ricky was deeply artistic-blessed with the ability to draw and paint incredible pieces. He had a passion for good music, especially heavy-hitting rock like Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, and Metallica, which was always playing in the background. Above all sports, football was his absolute favorite, and his team was the Denver Broncos.

Above everything else, family was his true anchor. He was the proud father of his only child, Brianna Hope Cook, who gave him his beloved first and only granddaughter, Jaidyn. Brianna was his greatest pride and joy-as the saying goes, "To the world you may be one person, but to your child, you are the world, and to a father, a daughter is the greatest joy life can bring." His face lit up whenever it came to his family, and his memory will live on through them.

Ricky shares an unbreakable bond with his brother, Joseph Luera-a brotherhood forged through fire, knowing that "A brother is someone who has been through hell and back with you, standing shoulder to shoulder when the world tried to tear you apart, and having your back no matter what."

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Brianna; his granddaughter, Jaidyn; his brother, Joseph; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Elaine, Hawk, Austin, and many more, all of whom held him in a very special place in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cherryl Phang (Cook) and Henry Luera, as well as his beloved siblings, Nikki and Elaine.
