Eual "Tommy" Thomas Buckner, 63, of Sedalia, MO passed away at his home on Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born in Sedalia, MO on May 17, 1957, to Glenn Lester and Erma Josephine (Richardson) Buckner.
On January 7, 1986 he was united in marriage to Lisa Boggs, who resides of Sedalia.
He leaves to cherish, his mother, Erma Buckner; six children, Na'Keesha Buckner, of Sedalia, Patricia Staten (Chris) Ballance of Sedalia, Apparicia McLaren of Sedalia, Brandon Kerr of Sedalia, Solomon Williams of Springfield, MO and Victoria Buckner of Sedalia.
Siblings include, Linda (Kelly) Kaiser of Des Moines, IA, Nardica Buckner of Leachville AR, Terry (Brenda) Buckner of Sedalia, Quinidean King Jackson of Sedalia and Kelly Buckner of Sedalia, a first cousin, Bea (John) Warder of Sedalia, Jerry Foster of Detroit, MI and a special friends , Pam Townsend of Columbia, MO; 23 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, a brother, Norvell Richardson, his son, Richard Thomas Buckner and special friend, Tammy Floyd.
Tommy graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1975, where he played basketball. Tommy had fast hands like Mohammed Ali and patterned his fancy footwork after Ali, as he shadowboxed himself. He loved all sports and was a natural born athlete. He could quote any stat about the players. He was an accomplished chess player, an avid fisherman, taking his grandchildren along from time to time. Tommy was an avid swimmer! He jumped into the pool as a toddler and began dog peddling and onto regular swimming on his own. One thing that anyone who knew Tommy will remember, is he was a master at imitating people. If you closed your eyes, you might swear that Barney Fife or Fred Sanford was standing right in your midst.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
