Obituary For Floyd E. Stevenson

Floyd E. Stevenson, 94, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia. He was born on September 25, 1929, in Sedalia, the son of Lee J. Stevenson and Bessie Lee (Miller) Stevenson, who preceded him in death.

On May 17, 1950, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Mary Lois Walker, who preceded him in death on November 9, 2003. Through this union, they had four beautiful daughters: Julie, Sue, Janette, and Robin. On November 17, 2007, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Vondaline "Vonda" (Beach) Stevenson, who resides in the home.

Floyd was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Abundant Life Church in Cole Camp. He was also a 50-year member of Sedalia Granite Lodge 242 AF&AM. Floyd was a real estate broker and later worked for Kelsey-Hayes for 23 years before his retirement.

Floyd enjoyed making his wooden pens, watching NASCAR, and riding motorcycles. He was an avid Chiefs fan and especially enjoyed his many trips to Branson, MO. Floyd enjoyed listening to country music and the steel guitar. He was a 20-plus-year season ticket holder to the Presley's Country Jubilee in Branson.

In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by three daughters, Julie Billingsley (Gary), Janette Moon, and Robin Jones (Charlie), all of Sedalia; a step-son, Michael Beach (Karen) of Sedalia; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Green; a sister, Bernice Ray; and three brothers, Emmitt, Everett, and Glen Stevenson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Herbert Robertson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Paxton, Bobby Karigan, Scott Fournier, Mike Beach, Charlie Jones, and Gary Billingsley.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
