Obituary For Frederick Henry Heitman

Frederick Henry Heitman, 79, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at home on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born on July 5, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Henry Heitman and Johnnie (Bullock) Heitman, who preceded him in death.

On June 20, 2014, in Warsaw, MO, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Riek, who resides in the home.

Fred served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. Fred was the sweetest, kindest, funniest soul. With his presence gone, there is a hole left in his family. He was a great man and was the easiest person to get with a jump scare. Fred knew how to give and take a joke. Fred took care of his wife with love and respect. He was with her on her good days and loved her even harder on her bad days. Fred enjoyed life and lived for the moment. Fred enjoyed playing poker and pool and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his wife, Fred is survived by two brothers, Frank Martin (Marie) of Kansas City, MO, and Buster Heitman (Kathy) of Independence, MO; four step-children, Tina Davis (Sheldon) of Lincoln, MO, Trisha, Craig and Tara Tanner all of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Jillian and Abbi; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will be having a celebration of life gathering with family and friends at a later date.
