Obituary For Gail Antoinette Kleoppel

Gail Antoinette Kleoppel, 65, of Sedalia, MO, passed away suddenly at her home on November 7, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1958, in Sedalia. She was the daughter of William Wilbur Powers and Dolores Marie (Houchens) Powers, who preceded her in death.

On December 2, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Bernard Kleoppel, who preceded her in death on November 5, 2020.

Gail graduated high school in Miami, FL, and later received her LPN degree from Concorde Career College in Kansas City, MO. She worked as a nurse at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO, and for Phoenix Home Health in Sedalia until her retirement in 2020. While Gail lived in Hialeah, FL, she loved going to the beach to be in the ocean every chance she could. Gail attended St. Vincent de Paul Parrish Sacred Heart Church in Sedalia. She loved music, collecting antiques, and gathering with her family whenever possible.

Gail is survived by a son, Jordan Hayes and his wife Desiree of Basalt, CO; three grandchildren, Telemachus (13), Atlas (6), and Dionysus (2); three sisters, Kelly Heimbach, Judy Woosley, and Diana Brown, all of Sedalia; and one brother, Jerry Houchens of Portland, OR; and four step-children, Cassidy Kleoppel, Amanda Lutz, Benjamin Kleoppel, and Aaron Kleoppel.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gail was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lyle and Agnes Sipes.

The family is planning a celebration of life for a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
