Garland Wray Jobe, 78, of Cole Camp, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on July 29, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Garland A. Jobe and Minnie Mable (Linney) Jobe, who preceded him in death.
On April 29, 2017, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Rowena Cerra, who resides in the home.
Wray was a 1961 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably from 1961 until 1967 during the Vietnam War. Wray was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Lincoln VFW Post #5925, and Combat Vet Motorcycle Association #4-6. Wray was a self-made carpenter. He owned and operated Wray Jobe Construction. Wray enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He and his wife traveled to many places across the country. Wray loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and just about anything to do with the outdoors. He especially loved getting together with family and friends for special occasions.
In addition to his wife, Wray is survived by four children, Jana Sprinkle (David), Tracy Mallard (Steve), Travis Jobe (Katie), all of Sedalia, and Jess Demey of Morrison, CO; nine grandchildren, Roman, Tristan (Toni), Shelby (Kole), Zachary (Sophie), Lyza (Joel), Trevor (Lauren), Gabbi (Connor), Gracy, and Cole; four great-grandchildren, Brody, Charlie, Emma, Elizabeth and coming soon, Ryver Rae; three siblings, Stan (Charlotte) Jobe of Sedalia, Dora (Jerry) Ransdell of Jefferson City, MO, and David (Debbie) Jobe of Vista, CA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Kindle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
The burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO, with full military honors conducted by the United States Navy and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.
Honorary bearers will be grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln, MO, VFW Post # 5925.
