Garrett Rylan Chandler

March 23, 2008 — July 23, 2025

Garrett Rylan "Peanut" Chandler, 17, of Knob Noster, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born on March 23, 2008, in San Diego, CA, the beloved son of Shane Leonard Chandler (Amanda) of Rockwall, TX, and Amy Lynn Welch (Adam) of Knob Noster, MO.

Garrett was preparing to begin his senior year at Knob Noster High School, where he was a proud and active member of the FFA program. Known for his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors, Garrett found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and kayaking - especially when he was out on the lake. His favorite meals were from McDonald's, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Garrett is survived by five brothers, Charles, Tayden, and Zane Chandler, and Paul and David Faulkenbury; two sisters, Shaylynn Chandler and Celeste LeBrun; his maternal grandparents, Janis Schilb (Kent), Sarah Berry, and Ronald Catts; paternal grandparents, Linda Leonard and John Chandler; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Welch.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel. In honor of Garrett's laid-back personality, the family invites everyone to come as they are and wear comfortable clothing.
