George Ellis Beeson Jr, 82, of Sunrise Beach, MO passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his daughter's home in Sedalia. He was born on August 11, 1938 in Kansas City, KS the son of George Ellis Beeson Sr. and Julia Helena (Ward) Beeson, who preceded him in death.
On March 29, 1958 in St. Louis, MO he was united in marriage to Donna Harmon, who resides in Sedalia. They later divorced and remained life long friends.
He is also survived by his loving companion Connie Searcy of Sunrise Beach, MO.
George served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps and was proud of being the General's mechanic during his service to the country. George owned and operated Beeson Body and Frame in Sedalia for many years. He was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks American Legion Post #624 and Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League #1137. George loved driving his dune buggy and Jeep. He enjoyed traveling, boating, deep sea fishing, and especially just loved being anywhere near water. George was known for his generosity, kindness, and loyalty to all. His laughter and big smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children Sharon Hejtmanek (Chris) of Sedalia, Rhonda Prevallet (Rick) of Overland Park, KS, and Dennis Beeson (Alice) of Centerville, IA; six grandchildren, Shelly Barnett, Kyle Hejtmanek, Cody Hejtmanek, Alex Beeson, Aaron Beeson, and Adam Beeson; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Dwight "Bud" Beeson (Sharon) of Cole Camp, and James Beeson of Kansas City, MO; and a sister, Joyce Mein (Rayburn) of Lockwood, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Bobby Beeson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Dr. Chad McMullin officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
A burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with full military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, MO.
Pallbearers will be Shelly Barnett, Kyle Hejtmanek, Cody Hejtmanek, Alex Beeson, Aaron Beeson, and Adam Beeson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League #1137 in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
