Obituary For Harold Eugene Young

Harold Eugene Young, 49, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, from an unexpected heart attack at Bothwell Regional Health Center. On February 25, 1973, he was born in Sedalia, the son of Morgan Young and Georgia (Fox) Young, who preceded him in death.

On March 20, 1993, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to January Whitston, who resides in the home.

Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for everyone he met. Harold loved his children and wife more than anything. He always went out of his way to make sure they were all taken care of. His wife, kids, and family were his number one priority in his life. Harold always made sure they all had everything they needed and never went without. He loved his family and friends more than life itself. Harold helped everyone in every possible way and had a heart of gold. Harold was the most giving individual a person could ever meet. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Harold loved building decks, painting, remodeling homes, and helping family and friends with anything possible. He also loved the outdoors, planting trees and flowers. Harold loved going to flea markets and garage sales to find collections of things for him and his kids to collect. He loved trading collections with his family and loved seeing the joy in their eyes of the cool stuff he found and gave or traded them. He just loved seeing everyone smile and be happy.

Harold is survived by his wife, January Young. He was a proud dad to two daughters, Melody and Lauren; two sons, Hunter and Liam; two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Ivar. Everyone will miss his cheerful attitude and bright smile.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Ed Spencer officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be held at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia, MO, at a later date.

Honorary bearers will be Hunter Young, Liam Young, Steve Balch, David Murray, Jason Fox, Jeremy Fox, Brian Dickinson, Marc Brewington, and Devon Tunis.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Harold's grandchildren's education fund in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
