Obituary For Harold Wayne Moore

Harold Wayne Moore, 77, of Hughesville, MO passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home. On December 10, 1944, he was born in Sedalia, MO, the son of A.H. Sam Moore and Frances (Drenon) Moore, who preceded him in death.

On September 18, 1965, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Judy Cramer, who resides in the home.

Harold was a 1962 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. During high school, he served on the Sedalia Civil Air Patrol. Harold served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1962 until 1965 during Vietnam. After his military service, Harold worked as a security officer for Boeing. He joined the Sedalia Police Department in 1967, retiring as Captain in 1995. Harold was baptized at Faith Baptist Church and attended Longwood Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Sedalia American Legion Post #642. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards and especially loved being with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mindy Lynn Reno (John) of Warsaw; four grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Caleb Reno, Aaron Reno (Macaila), and Raelynn King (Jake); a daughter-in-law, Renee' Moore of Moberly, MO; five siblings, Bill Moore (Terri) of Warsaw, Rhonda Short (Joe) of Warsaw, Sue Spratley (John), Peggy Womble, and Penny Ford, all of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Spratley (Allen) of Sedalia; a brother-in-law, Michael Cramer (Carol) of Sedalia; close family friends, Russ and Gwen Hess, of Cole Camp; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scottie Wayne Moore; step-father, Roy Ford; step-mother, Velma Moore; a brother, Sammy Moore; a sister, Connie Dabney; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Mae Comer; and maternal grandparents, Carl and Lucille Drenon.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Roberta Karchner. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the chapel.

Honorary bearers will be Cindy Carson, Larry Ward, Lloyd Simmons, Wes Keele, Brad Beard, Bill Gross, and John Rice.

Friends and family may make memorial contributions to Fitzgibbon Mary Montgomery Hospice or Longwood Presbyterian Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
