Herbert Timothy Hudson

Herbert Timothy "Tim" Hudson, 69, of Green Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at his home in Green Ridge. He was born on June 16, 1954, in Windsor, MO, the son of Herbert Roy Hudson and Bonnie Dene (Thacker) Hudson, who preceded him in death.

On May 2, 1980, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Edith Ann Abell, who resides in the home.

Tim grew up in Windsor, MO, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1972. He later attended Central Missouri State University for one year. In 1975, he moved to Green Ridge, MO, where he met his wife of 44 years, Edith Abell.

Tim worked at International Shoe Factory in Windsor, MO, for nine years until it closed. He worked at Alcan Cable for 30 years, retiring in June 2017. In his younger years, Tim was a fantastic bowler. He won many bowling tournaments at the Windsor Bowling Alley, where he held the highest score for many years. Tim was an avid hunter. His favorite hunting was for geese/ducks and deer. He enjoyed fishing, especially crappie. He was a big sports fan, especially football, baseball and basketball. His favorite teams to watch were the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues.

In addition to his wife, Tim is survived by a son, Tyler Rex Hudson, of Green Ridge; two uncles, Russell Hudson of Calhoun, MO, and Ray Hudson (Erika) of Versailles, MO; and two aunts, Mary Ruth Embry (Larry) of St. Louis, MO, and Mary Christanson of Lawrence, KS; and many cousins, including Jimmy Thacker (Mona), of Baileyton, TN.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by two uncles, Walter Hudson and Bill Hudson.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, MO, with Kris Embry officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the graveside at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Jim Perkins, Keith Daleen, Dencil Bailey, Rick Hudson, Tim Dove, and Adam Dove.

Honorary bearers will be Marvin Logan, Richard Simon, Kenny Cooper, Kenny Smith, and Brian Hudson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Optimist Club or the Sedalia Boys and Girls Club in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
