Hilka Rose Post (Grannie Rose), 72, of Sedalia, MO, formerly of Princeton, MO, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on January 28, 1953, in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of Sheldon Benjamin Lincoln, who preceded her in death, and Mary Ann (Garwood) Lincoln, who resides in Leon, IA.
On December 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to Carl Dewayne Parnell, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1996. On August 10, 2008, she was united in marriage to George Post, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2023.
Hilka was deeply involved in the Baptist churches within the communities where she lived. She found joy in teaching Sunday School, G.A.s, and AWANA. In Guymon, OK, she was a member of the Happy Neighbors Extension Club. Additionally, she participated in the Olde Time Hymners and served as a 4-H leader. Hilka had a passion for baking, canning, singing, and gardening. She loved everyone without judgment and was often described as full of cheer, sunshine, and a joy to be around.
In addition to her mother, Hilka is survived by three daughters, Carrie Hostetler and her husband Dewey of Joy, KY, April Vandiver and her husband Bryan of Ridgeway, MO, and Lana Hail of Sedalia, MO; two bonus children, Michelle Post and Billy Post; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Oesch (Maynard) of Mercer, MO, Jean Eakes of Davis City, IA, and Anna May Shields (Randy) of Lineville, MO; two brothers, Nick Lincoln (Angie) of Nebraska, and Lynn Lincoln (Mindy) of Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her father and husbands, Hilka was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Hostetler; a granddaughter, Adrianna Parnell; a son-in-law, Corey Hail; and a brother-in-law, Danny Eakes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Princeton, MO, with Pastor Kyle Lannan officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The burial will be at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, MO.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Hostetler, Austin Hail, Amos Hostetler, Eli Hostetler, Toby Hostetler, Paytun Vandiver, and John Hostetler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Princeton, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
