Jake Levi Martin, 17, of La Monte, MO passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was born on July 28, 2004, in Warrensburg, MO the son of Jacob L. Martin and Ashley N. (Hill) Martin, who reside in the home.
Jake was a member of the La Monte Christian Church. He was baptized by his dad during church camp at the Show-Me-Christian Youth Home. Jake was a Junior at La Monte High School where he was active in FFA, Soccer and Basketball. He was currently in CTC Automotive Program at State Fair Community College. Jake worked on the family farm and loved caring for his cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved to ride his dirt bike and motorcycle. Jake was a very kind and polite young man. He was known for his sense of humor and wittiness. He always had a joke and loved to pull pranks and make people laugh. Jake loved to be around family and friends and especially loved his brothers.
Along with his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Gavin Martin, Jaxon Martin of the home, and Cobey Martin, of Minneapolis, MN; maternal grandparents, Deina Hill of La Monte and Mark Stockstill of Sedalia; Mike Hill (Sheila) of Harrisonville, MO; paternal grandparents, Randy and Robin Martin of La Monte; maternal great-grandparents, Leatha and Jack Williams of La Monte; paternal great-grandmother, Bobbie Ogan of Sedalia, MO; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dylan Martin; maternal great-grandmother, Carol Esser; maternal great-grandfather, Jim Hill; paternal great-grandmother, Sarah Martin; paternal grandfather, George Martin.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, Sedalia, with Pastor Alan Morse, officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Celebration Center.
Burial will be at La Monte Cemetery, La Monte, MO.
Pallbearers will be Zack Weber, Tyler Weber, Thomas Whitworth, Jaden Harshner, Taylor Shireman, and Carter Knoernschild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Show-Me-Christian Youth Home in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
