Jakob Charles Neel, 31, of Smithton, MO, went home to walk with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born on August 16, 1993, in Sedalia, MO, the beloved son of Paul E. Neel III (Kacie), of Otterville, and Julie Ann Meyer (Terry), of Grain Valley, who survive.
On September 23, 2017, in Sedalia, MO, Jakob was united in marriage to Miranda Lynn Worrick, who survives of the home.
A 2012 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, Jakob went on to work as a Commercial HVAC Installer for Home Heating and Air in Sedalia. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Syracuse, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of 27.
Jakob was known for his compassionate heart, selfless nature, and unwavering kindness. He was always willing to help others, no matter the need. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed tractor pulling with friends, finding joy and camaraderie in the sport. Above all, Jakob's life centered on his faith and his family - especially his precious daughter, Amelia. His deep love for her inspired him to bravely and faithfully fight a long and difficult battle with cancer, determined to cherish every moment together.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jakob is survived by his cherished daughter, Amelia Neel, of the home; three siblings, Amber Neel, of Sedalia, and Brooke Neel and Cooper Neel, both of Otterville; his maternal grandparents, Charles Meyer (Karen) and Carol Smith; paternal grandmothers, Donna Hughes, of Sedalia, and Laura Neel, of Clever, MO; two nieces, Ivy Weisz and Paislee Langton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Paul E. Neel II.; his maternal great-grandmothers, Frances Summers, and Ethel Pugh; and paternal great-grandparents, Oliver and Byrdia Hughes.
