Janice Kay Mather

Janice Kay Mather, 78, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was born on January 18, 1944, in Sedalia, the daughter of Lynn Forrest Ratje and Christine Sophia (Schlobohm) Ratje, who preceded her in death.

She grew up an only child and helped her parents run their service station and café. She loved to make paper dolls, crochet, sew, and especially loved her animals. She was married twice and had two children. She loved her grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She was also very devoted to her service and worship in the Warrensburg New Life United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include a son, Shawn Mather of Sedalia, and a daughter, Kristy Mather of the home; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Kayla), Avery (Lacey), Ashlyn, Akaycia, Azidro, Ariel, Atticus, and Alyssa; and a great-grandchild to be.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
