Jerry F. Crowley, 82, of Billings, MO, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO. He was born on March 24, 1942, in Lyons, KS, the son of Marvin Hatfield and Mary Lucille (Pierce) Hatfield, who preceded him in death.
On October 25, 1964, he was united in marriage to Alecia Allen, who passed away on June 3, 1984. On December 29, 1984 in Kansas, he was united in marriage to Shawn Alpers, who resides in the home.
Jerry Crowley, lovingly known as "Papa Crowley," was the epitome of a hard worker who lived by the principle: "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right." He took no shortcuts in life, providing for his family with dedication and integrity. A great father, Jerry not only built with his hands but also with his heart, teaching his children and grandchildren valuable trades and construction skills.
He had a deep love for his family, spending time at sporting events for his grandkids and finding joy in being with those he loved. Jerry had an unshakable faith, starting each day reading his Bible, and often reminded others to turn to prayer when facing life's challenges.
Known for his love of peanut butter and breakfast, he was a man of simple pleasures. Jerry could fix anything-whether it was for family, friends, or neighbors. An avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years, Jerry also found joy in riding horses, attending rodeos, and watching cowboy movies. He built homes, ran a cabinet shop, and even operated a Christmas tree farm, always pursuing his passions with creativity and integrity.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to his faith, and the lasting lessons he taught to those around him.
In addition to his wife Shawn, Jerry is survived by five children Stephen Crowley (Jennifer) of Republic, MO, Michael Crowley (Joni) of Springdale, AR, Christa Alpers of Springfield, MO, Jonathan Alpers of Golden, MO, and Jacob Crowley (Courtney) of Republic, MO; 12 grandchildren Zac (Piper), Clayton (Emma), Jaden, Josie, Chris (Heather), Alecia (Tyler), Cami, Lane, Reed, Isaac, Matthew, and Brooklynn; five great grandchildren, Jaxon, Tate, Leighton, Brooks, and Cohen; four brothers, Gary Crowley of Weatherford, TX, Joe Crowley (Jean) of Arkansas City, KS, Father Chad Hatfield (Shelley) of Salina, KS, and Jan Hatfield (Teressa) of Derby, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
