Obituary For Jerry Wayne Naylor

Jerry Wayne Naylor, 72, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on February 2, 2024, at his home. He was born on October 23, 1951, in Sedalia, the son of Ralph Dencil Naylor and Julia Jewel (Gearheart) Naylor, who preceded him in death.

On June 4, 1978, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Sheila Marie Pearl, who resides in the home.

Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Cole Camp High School. He worked for a seed company in Green Ridge, MO, for 11 years and worked as a custodian for 22 years at Horace Mann Elementary School, where he retired. He enjoyed mowing grass and cutting wood. Hobbies included woodworking, crafts, fishing, baking bread, and making delicious meals for the family. His heart was also dearly shared by his little dog, Annie, who he lost in 2022.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by four sons, Daniel Naylor and his wife Deana, Jason Naylor and his wife Jacque, Nathan Naylor and his wife Michelle, and Zach Naylor and his wife Tera, all of Sedalia; and five grandchildren, Angel, Carter, Kaylee, Axton, and Jayce.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his "Second Parents," uncle and aunt, Earl and Nona Stuart, and aunt, Frances Dillon.

A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, 3510 W. 16th St., Sedalia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mid America Chapter, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
