Obituary For Joanna Lahvie Walker

Joanna Lahvie Walker, 89, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on January 22, 1934, in Shamrock, OK, the daughter of Sherman G. Davidson and Gladys V. (Gravitt) Davidson, who preceded her in death.

On September 16, 1950, in Artesia, NM, she was united in marriage to Larry Paul Walker, who resides in the home.

Joanna was married to Larry at the age of fifteen. She continued her education by getting her G.E.D. Joanna worked as a beautician and a cosmetology teacher. Later she received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Central Missouri State College. She was an elementary teacher at High Point School in Sedalia and later elementary school principal in Montrose, MO. Joanna was also a deaf interpreter. She took a deaf student all the way through high school, from his freshman year, teaching and interpreting until he graduated from high school.

Joanna enjoyed going to auctions with her husband. She was very artistic and enjoyed doing crafts. Later in life, she enjoyed canning the vegetables her husband grew in the garden.

In addition to her husband, Joanna is survived by three daughters, Velma Fici (Carl) of Versailles, MO, Paula Troncoso (Micheal) of Barnett, MO, and Belinda Walker of Sedalia; three grandchildren, John Paul Stohr (Diane), Joshua Allee (Lori), and Jana Allee (Kinley); a great-grandson, Braden Allee; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joanna was preceded in death by two sisters, Ramona Merryweather and Rahma Lee Critser, and a brother, Ramon Davidson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.

The burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Allee, Jana Allee, Michael Troncoso, and Braden Allee.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
