John Nathan Turley

John Nathan Turley, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on May 15, 1938, in Peck, ID, the son of John Newton Turley and Alice Lillian (Knuth) Turley, who preceded him in death.

On September 23, 2000, in Warrensburg, MO, he was united in marriage to Linda Darlene Campbell-Holsten, who survives of the home. His first marriage was to Geraldine Bush. They had two sons, Gary and Danny.

John was a 1957 graduate of Stover High School. He had several jobs in his lifetime. He was the owner of Turley's Welding in Sedalia. He built several ponds for many people around Sedalia. John also built chicken and turkey pads around the same area. John went to work for Operating Engineers Local 101, Kansas City, until his retirement. He was a Mason and member of Sedalia Granite Lodge #272 AF&AM. In addition to his wife, John is survived by a son, Danny Turley of McDonough, GA; a brother, Alonzo Turley (Sandy) of Sedalia; a sister, Alysie Geier of New Carlisle, OH; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Gary Turley; three brothers, Authur "Red" Turley, Herbert Rockne Turley, and Timothy Laverelle Turley.

A memorial service and Masonic Rite will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church, 2101 W. 32nd St., Sedalia, with Pastor Anne Kyle officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Everyone is invited to the American Legion, 2016 W. Main, Sedalia, following the service for a pot-luck dinner.
