Obituary

Joseph "Joe Don" Donald Gordon, 73, of Hughesville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at his home.

He was born on June 4, 1953, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Eugene C. Gordon and Billy Jo (Garrison) Gordon, both of whom preceded him in death.

On August 11, 1995, in Sedalia, Missouri, Joe Don was united in marriage to Linda J. Wofford, who survives of the home.

Joe Don was a proud graduate of Northwest High School in Hughesville, Class of 1971. He continued his education at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975.

Following college, Joe Don worked alongside his father on the family farm and hauled grain for several years. He later became the owner and operator of Marshall Office Supply in Marshall, Missouri. Most recently, he served as the Maintenance Supervisor for Olsen West Apartments in Sedalia.

Joe Don was a hardworking man who took great pride in his home and property. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his yard and always found satisfaction in keeping things well maintained. He also enjoyed visiting flea markets, where he loved searching for a good collectible or unexpected treasure.

Joe Don especially enjoyed the holidays, with Halloween being a favorite. More than anything, he valued the time spent gathering with family and friends and the memories they created together.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Joe Don is survived by his sister, Nancy Gordon of Springfield, Missouri; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Mills of California; his grandson, Grant; and his nephew, Kyle Gordon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kent Gordon; and his grandson, Connor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Candace Fowler officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
