Joseph Kenneth Ream, 93, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. He was born on November 10, 1931, in Sedalia, to Robert Lee Ream and Maude Lorraine (Whitcher) Ream, who both preceded him in death.

Joseph honorably served in the United States Army as a cook. He worked at Liquor Locker in Sedalia for several years and later served for many years as a funeral director assistant at Ewing Funeral Home.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Lou Rymer; his brother, Kenneth J. Ream; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Jean Henderson and Ruth Ann Pummill; as well as his brothers, Robert Charles and Dale Leroy Ream.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and VFW Post #2591 at 6:30 p.m.

Inurnment will occur at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to ACG Hospice or the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
