Obituary

Kirby Lee Pyle, 66, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.

He was born on May 7, 1960, in Sedalia, the son of Charles Curtis Pyle and Patricia Rose (Kindle) Pyle, both of whom preceded him in death.

Kirby was a proud graduate of Smithton High School, Class of 1978. Following graduation, he joined the Carpenters Local Union in Kansas City, where he worked as a skilled carpenter for many years. He later became self-employed in Sedalia, continuing his career in carpentry and putting his talents and craftsmanship to work throughout the community.

Kirby was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served as an officer of the Sedalia VFW Men's Auxiliary. He had a heart for helping others and especially enjoyed giving his time to coach and encourage young athletes in youth sports.

An avid outdoorsman, Kirby found great enjoyment in hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the opportunity to spend time outdoors doing the things he loved.

Above all else, Kirby was a devoted family man who treasured the time he spent with his loved ones. While he enjoyed many things throughout his life, nothing brought him greater happiness than being a grandpa. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the love, laughter, and memories they shared were among his greatest blessings. Being their grandpa was truly one of his proudest and most cherished roles.

Kirby leaves behind six children, Mikey Pyle (Heather) of Warrensburg, MO, Jeremy Pyle and his wife, Kari, of Sedalia, MO, Patrick Pyle and his wife, Ashley, of Sedalia, MO, Emily Bruce and her husband, Corey, of Warrensburg, MO, Atticus Pyle of Sedalia, MO, and Alyssa Pyle of Sedalia, MO; three siblings, Debbie Brewer and her husband, John, of Windsor, MO, Christy Pyle of Sedalia, MO, and Kerry Pyle and his wife, Theresa, of Sedalia, MO; a sister-in-law, Renee Pyle of Sedalia, MO; ten beloved grandchildren, Trystan, Garrett, Addison, Gunnar, Olivia, Charles, Elliott, Bailey, Jackson, and Eli; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, Kirby was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Pyle and Curtis "Babe" Pyle.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jason Kindle officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
